This was saturday nights very bright outfit for an evening of dancing in Dalston, wearing my new sweatshirt a la sequins. The evening was particularly enjoyable as I got to meet the lovely Stella and her photographer for Stella's Wardrobe.
Sale shopping. Always a risky business, especially for someone like me who is an impulsive shopper at the best of times. You may of noticed I do not have a varied array of basics, more a huge collection of random items and styles...much of which are also patterned! This skirt however, I think - hope, was a sensible (ish) choice...it's a dove grey, real suede skirt that was reduced from £85 to £20. I enjoyed debuting my bargain to the ballet with my family this week, an elegant skirt for an elegant occasion. I teamed it with my flatmates beautiful new printed silk top. I did have some better pictures of this outfit, somehow I have deleted them, apologies, particularly as the top has a lovely low scooping back detail...
These trousers should probably be frumpy, they looked frumpy when I picked them up...but they just fit surprisingly well. I really enjoy the contrast of a high-waisted tailored fit with the grungy feel of the muted check, very good charity shop find! A casual cropped Monki tee for day and then combined with this cropped metallic jumper they feel bar ready. I'd like to take the smart side up a notch, so no doubt likely to appear again combined with some heels.
A pretty simple outfit here, I do like me a grungy midi-skirt...I'm a fashion 'recycler' as they love to call Kate Middleton/Windsor (??) as she occasionally wears an item more than once! Anyhow, I apologise for not having a better selection of photographs, but I have a terrible cold and I look...terrible, in the photos where you can see my face - I think you could catch the cold from just looking at me. So I've left them out for safety reasons. This skirt has little buttons all the way up the middle, I've opened some of them for the ease of walking and also to avoid looking a little frumpy. But not to the point of 'leg-gate' Jolie style, that was very strange wasn't it! Anyway, off to work I must go.

I'm loving the new wide striped trend that's coming around for S/S 13, here is my first wintery take on it a la leather trousers. Do feel a little bit like I've escaped from my childhood memories! This sequin collar was a christmas gift in my stocking (from my lovely mother), it is handmade from my friend Lara's Etsy site which you can find here - she has some lovely handmade collars, decorations, bags and other little trinkets.
